Armored Trooper Votoms ATM-09-GC Brutish Dog (1/20)
Hell has no fury like a woman scorned
After several Machinen Krieger kits, I was looking for something else.
I stumbled on this 'female-robot' (This VOTOM has a female pilot) and really liked it! It has the same scale (1/20) like Maschinen Krieger.
Apparently these VOTOMS originated from an anime from the early 80ties. A military science fiction mecha anime television series from 1983 to be specific... Check!
This Bandai-kit is very well made. No need for glue whatsoever. The only thing is that the manual is in Japanese only... but the instructions are clear (sometimes tough thoug). I love that the kit has parts that will be invisible when put together.
When it come to paint; that has been a puzzle. Because I wanted to pre-shade the kit. What to pre-assemble and what not?!
First a base coat black on the bown parts...
Then some instant-tile-glue for the bubbly rust efect. After that dried the pre-shading white...
Time for some red. And a small test fitting.
I went a little overboard when trying out the oil-dot-wash... But the rust (Pigments bij Vallejo) turned out extremly good!
Strike a pose!
Yep. That's the broken heart...
I always have trouble photgraphing these kits, so I decided to construct a home-made 'Light-Box'... Tadaah! Not great, but much better.
Just having some fun with photoshop...
